Information for Counselors With Active Applicants
Hamilton will not admit any active students without senior grades. For Early Decision II, we need first marking period grades no later than January 29. For Regular Decision, we should receive initial senior year grades (first trimester/semester) within the first two weeks of February.
Slate.org Counselor Portal
We have established a portal for counselors through Slate.org. This is a free tool for school counselors, independent counselors, and community-based organizations. Depending on your role, you may be able to securely upload documents, track your applicant’s status, and receive notice of their decisions. See our Slate.org instructions page for details.
Applicant Portal
All applicants will be emailed information about how to establish a login for their Applicant Portal two to three business days after submitting their application. Encourage students to log in to their portal often, as it contains several checklists for their review, a list of deadlines, and access to submit optional, supplemental materials. Students who do not receive their portal access email, or who need to reset their password, should email admission@hamilton.edu.
Standardized Tests
Hamilton is test optional. For information about testing, including English proficiency testing for international students, see our standardized test policy.
January Admission
Your student may have been offered a spot in Hamilton’s “Jan” class. This information may be helpful as you assist them in considering the opportunity to participate our January Admission Program.
Gap Year / Deferral Policy
We are generally supportive of gap year requests and feel strongly that students who are seeking them should be encouraged to explore opportunities that are important to them before pursuing their Hamilton career. Review our gap year policy.
Wait List Information
As your students consider their college options, we hope that this information about our wait list will help clarify Hamilton’s decision.
