Personal Interviews

People don’t join the Hamilton community for just four years; they belong for a lifetime. For many students, membership in that enduring community begins with the personal interview. Furthermore, because the admission committee works hard to ensure “fit” with Hamilton when determining admission decisions, personal interviews are strongly encouraged.

An interview will not only provide us with a strong sense of your personal strengths and interests that may not be obvious in an application, it will also give you a chance to ask questions and learn more about Hamilton in a personal setting. Most interviews are video interviews, though a limited number of campus interviews will be available in the fall.

Interviews for students who plan to apply for Fall 2027 admission, or for transfer candidates, will begin on February 16, 2026, and registration will open in early February.

Interviews are conducted by admission officers or Hamilton seniors who are carefully selected and trained for this purpose.

Interview Deadlines

Interviews must be completed by the following deadlines for each admission option.

Fall 2027 Admission

Early Decision 1: November 19, 2026
Early Decision 2 and Regular Decision: January 10, 2027

Transfer Admission

Fall 2026: April 1, 2026
Spring 2027: November 11, 2026
