On October 22, members of the campus community gathered in the DMC for the debut event in the Geological Society’s new Environmental and Geological Violence and Oppression Awareness Series (EVAS). Hosted in collaboration with the Black and Latine Student Union (BLSU) and the Feminists of Color Collective (FCC), the program sought to illuminate the global connections between natural resource extraction, environmental harm, and inequitable power structures.

Center for Intersectional Feminism (CIF) hosted five incredible events this October in celebration of the annual Sex Positivity Week! Organizers broke down sex myths, fought back against stigmas about sex, educated the campus, and celebrated the joy of safe sex alongside campus partners and fellow students.

What was the coolest event the week of October 20th? Hard to say - GSU’s Trans Tea Time, Ace Representation in the Media, and #ThisIsWhatAsexualLooksLike events tie for first. GSU hosted Asexual Awareness Week to dedicate space and time to ace representation and education.

On Friday, October 4, the Sadove Porch was transformed into a Y2K dreamscape as the Black and Latine Student Union (BLSU) hosted its annual Homecoming Celebration. Just like the titular 2002 hit song by Nelly, this year’s theme, It’s Getting HOT in Herre, did not disappoint.
