LITS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”
~Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time."
~Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Hamilton College Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all that we are and do. We strive to embrace our differences, and foster a culture of inclusion that supports our work on campus and beyond. We value inclusion as a core strength and an essential element of our work.
The LITS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee has developed a three-part strategy: build a diverse team, arrange professional development opportunities for our staff, and provide diverse and inclusive services and resources.
DEI Hiring Toolkit
Our goal is to support Hamilton’s commitment to inclusive excellence. This toolkit is intended to be one of many resources to consult to increase outreach efforts and build an inclusive applicant pool.
Awareness Programs
Continued learning, both inside and outside a formal training program, is important for all members of LITS to help create a more inclusive and welcoming environment.
Continuing Efforts
LITS actively supports and continues to enhance the advancement and celebration of DEI through our diverse collections, inclusive programming, responsive services offered, and other means.
