Margaret Gentry, interim vice president for academic affairs and dean of faculty, announced the appointment of new faculty for the 2017-18 academic year, including 13 tenure-track appointments, 12 visiting professors and instructors, four lecturers and five teaching fellows.

Emad Kiyaei, who served until 2016 as the director of the American Iranian Council (AIC) will join the Hamilton College faculty this semester as the Sol M. Linowitz Visiting Professor of International Affairs in the Government Department.

Home Fire, a new novel by Kamila Shamsie ‘’94 has been named to the Man Booker Prize 2017 longlist, or “Man Booker Dozen.” The Man Booker Prize for Fiction is a prestigious British award, open to writers of any nationality, writing in English and published in the UK.
