Eight Hamilton College seniors were elected to the Epsilon chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest honor society, at the September meeting. The inductees are Rachel Alatalo, Kara Burns, Julia Carpenter, Dana Holloway, Sarah Magee, Theodore McKenna, Clare Munroe and Madeleine Roehl.

Teach For America released its 10th annual list of the schools contributing the greatest number of alumni to its 2017 teaching corps and Hamilton College is among the top 10 small colleges and universities. This is the fourth year Hamilton has been named to the list.

Chiedera Onyeoziri ’18 and Gillian Mak ’18 recently returned from Japan where they participated in HELIO (Human Ecology Lab In Osakikamijima). HELIO is an intensive two-week program that brought together 24 changemakers from around the world to help launch the next era in Japanese higher education by co-designing a new Japanese “college”’ in the community of Osakikamijima, Hiroshima.

Paige Zupan ’17 came to Hamilton planning to major in biology. But thanks to economics classes that intrigued her, advice from faculty, and a semester in the New York City program, she found a path that led to an internship and ultimately a job with Sara Weinstein ’02 at Weinstein Carnegie, a cause marketing agency in New York City.
