What is the relationship between art and geography? This seminar focuses on the mobility of art across borders through trade, travel, and collecting before the age of globalization. We will look at the theoretical and cultural dimensions of geographical networks, as well as consider contemporary issues surrounding migration, repatriation, and national patrimony that shape our understanding of mobile things today.
