As a reminder, Hamilton does have a few requirements students must complete in order to graduate.

  • Quantitative & Symbolic Reasoning (QSR) – A QSR designated course is a Hamilton graduation requirement.  No Arcadia courses are QSR designated. Students must complete the requirement by graduation, though it is best to complete it as soon as possible. Jans should register for a QSR designated course for the spring semester of their freshman year or the fall semester of their sophomore year.
  • Writing-Intensive – The writing-intensive graduation requirement consists of 3 writing-intensive courses, each taken in a different semester. One needs to be outside of the student’s concentration.
  • Physical Education – All enrolled students are required to participate in a physical education program for individual development.  This is a four-part graduation requirement that includes, a physical fitness test (a course is offered for those who do not pass); two lifetime activity classes; and one unit of the following: intercollegiate varsity athletics, wellness seminar, or lifetime activity class. All students must complete this requirement during their first 3 semesters of residency at Hamilton.
