IMPORTANT TO KNOW

• The campus application deadline is in early December.
• Hamilton may nominate up to four students who demonstrate breadth of accomplishment in academics and in organizations related to mathematics and the natural sciences.
• Applicants must intend to pursue careers involving STEM research in academia or industry.
• Pre-med students who intend to pursue careers in medical research, rather than medical practice, are eligible to apply.
• Prospective applicants should discuss the application with their faculty members and research mentors as early in the process as possible.

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates must be current sophomores or juniors at the time of application. They must be majoring in mathematics or the natural sciences, have excellent academic records, and be planning careers in STEM research.

AMOUNT AND DURATION OF AWARD

$7,500 for each of the remaining two undergraduate years for sophomores and for the remaining one undergraduate year for juniors.

APPLICATION DEADLINE AND NOMINATION PROCESS

The Hamilton campus application is due in early December each year. In 2024, it was noon on December 4.  Applications submitted by the campus deadline are reviewed and up to four candidates are selected to advance to the national competition. Nominees will have the chance to fine tune their materials prior to submitting their applications by the national deadline at the end of January.
