“Record from Webcam” Tool in Blackboard

With the addition of YouTube to our Google Apps suite, we will also be able to make use of the "Record from Webcam" tool in Blackboard.

This tool exists in the toolbar of the Content Editor (which appears anywhere in Blackboard where you can enter text). Basically you can click this button and record yourself speaking from the webcam in your laptop (or mobile device). The recording is saved in your YouTube account and inserted immediately into the content area of your course. You should complete the initial opt-in form for the new apps first, then try out this feature in Blackboard. 

This could be used for short introductions to projects, for spoken feedback to student work, for students to record themselves speaking in foreign languages, for student video introductions, and many other possibilities.
