New Technologies in the Classroom
By Kristin Strohmeyer
July 17, 2020
The LITS Audiovisual Team has been quite busy installing articulating arms with meetup cameras in many of the classrooms across campus. Forrest Warner, Video Support Specialist on the Audiovisual Team, has put together a fantastic instructional video on how to use these arms and other new technology in the classroom.
Please book a space using 25Live to cue the custodians that the space will need to be cleaned after you use it. This is really important for health and safety reasons even if you are just popping in for 5 minutes to do a quick test. Also, please do not call #600 from a room phone if you run into technical issues or have questions. This number is not being staffed over the summer, and you will need to contact AV and arrange an appointment for one on one support.
Individual departments will have new conferencing carts assigned to them for their departmental labs/studios, and they will be responsible for their scheduling, movement, and usage. If your department will have needs that won’t be met with the carts, please contact AV.
Any of the locations listed below can be used to test the equipment or to create content in advance of the beginning of the semester. The list is somewhat fluid as rooms change to accommodate smaller class sizes.
