What's Available?
Hamilton's educational licensing agreements for software specifically limit installation to machines owned by the College. Therefore, software purchased by Hamilton under these agreements may not be installed on personally owned equipment.
Microsoft 365
Microsoft offers web-based and installable Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote) to all current employees. If you are interested in obtaining a Microsoft 365 account (or you have forgotten your password to your existing Microsoft 365 account), please email helpdesk@hamilton.edu.
Anti-virus and anti-spyware software
Hamilton College does not provide free antivirus software for personal use, but employees should take advantage of the reputable free antivirus options available, such as:
- Avira for Windows
- Sophos Home Edition or avast! Free Antivirus for Mac
Hamilton College contracts with CCNY Tech for hardware repair service for all college-owned desktop computers and peripheral equipment. CCNY Tech is also available to repair personal computers and equipment for a fee. The CCNY Tech personnel are Apple and Dell certified. In addition, they can repair printers and other peripheral equipment.
The CCNY Tech repair facility is located on the third floor of Burke Library, room 372a (directly to the left as you enter the main doors)
