Hamilton College requires that all enrolled students carry valid health insurance coverage.
Student Health Requirements
The immunizations listed below are required for entry to Hamilton College. The submission process is detailed within the Student Patient Portal (Medicat).
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
- Two doses required:
- First dose: administered on or after the student's first birthday (a grace period of up to four days before the first birthday is permissible)
- Second dose: at least 28 days after the first dose
Meningitis ACWY
- One dose administered after the age of 16 and within the past 5 years
Meninigitis B
- Two doses required:
- First dose: administered after the age of 16
- Second dose: administered at least 6 months after the first dose
- Both doses must be from the same brand series
Tdap
- One dose is required within 10 years before enrollment
- Students must submit proof of completed primary DTaP series, along with Tdap documentation
Poliovirus
- Completion of the primary IPV series
Varicella
- Two doses
- First dose: after the student’s first birthday
- Second dose: at least 8 weeks after the first dose

Hamilton requires that all enrolled students carry valid health insurance coverage. You must upload a copy of your insurance card (front and back) directly to the Student Patient Portal (Medicat). Please be sure to update this if there are any changes to your coverage.
Students who enroll at Hamilton will be billed an annual premium unless coverage is waived. The waiver process must be completed annually.
