“We laughed, but it was really sweet — just them having a concept of what college is, and having such a fun weekend and what that means,” Wright said. “They have their own pride and have a relationship with the College after a really fun weekend, and I think that’s definitely stuck with them. They think very favorably of my school and my experience, and then they got to experience it for themselves.”
Wright’s older son, Wade, also felt a special connection to Hamilton as soon as he stepped on the Hill. Like his brother, he brings his Hamilton water bottle to school and wears his Hamilton apparel with pride. And just like their mother, Connor and Wade quickly made great friends on campus, in their case with the children of other alumni.
“We really leaned in to bringing our families, and it's been a real joy to meet everyone’s children and having our children meet each other,” Wright said. “It was a highlight of the weekend, both reconnecting and having our children meet and become friends.”

Wright feels that the childcare the College offers during Reunions allows returning alumni to experience the best of both worlds throughout the weekend.
“It’s all amazing — the activities for the kids and just the level of engagement and support and encouragement that Hamilton gave us to say, ‘Yeah, bring them! It’ll be special!’” Wright said. “You can make it what you want it to be for that weekend — an adults’ weekend, a family weekend, and I thought that we had the blend of both with the opportunity to put the kids in childcare, which was really fun for them.”
For one of their trips to the Hill, the entire Wright family stayed in the same first-floor Dunham dorm that she shared with her three best friends, a suite affectionately nicknamed “the dog run” due to its unconventional layout. Wright still uses “dog run” as a shorthand for that group of friends, and her
boys were inspired by the name; they branded themselves and the friends they met at Reunions the “puppy run,” a charming symbol of Hamily lineage.
“It’s so fun to instill not only Hamilton pride, but have things like that happen,” Wright said. “It just made us all chuckle, that our first-floor housing in Dunham our junior year could still be represented in the way we talk about ourselves and our experiences, and how our kids talk about their relationships with each other.”
