Language Center Director Claire Frances, and Rachel Martinie, Language Center coordinator, presented at the Innovative Approaches to Language Education conference held at Colgate University in late March. The conference was sponsored by the NY 6 Central Humanities Corridor.

Frances led a round table discussion with other language center directors from the New York 6, titled “From Support Hub to Strategic Partner: The Role of Language Centers in Sustaining Language Program Vitality at SLACs.”

Martinie gave a talk about peer language tutor training and mentorship, “Mini-Teachers, Maximum Impact: Danielson Rubrics for Reimagining Facilitator Training Through Proficiency & Practice.”

The New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium facilitates collaboration among its member institutions in fulfilling their educational missions and serving the public good. Members include Colgate University, Hamilton College, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, St. Lawrence University, Skidmore College, and Union College.
