Assistant Professor of Theatre Emily K. Harrison was recently awarded two shared 2025 Westword Best of Denver™ Awards in the Arts and Entertainment Category for her contributions to the World Premiere of Eyes Up, Mouth Agape, produced by Buntport Theater Company (Denver).
The play, which "commemorates" the 20th-anniversary of the Dave Matthews Band Chicago River Incident premiered in November 2024. Best of Denver™ honors for the play include Best Costume Design and Best Musical Number about Sh*t, with Westword noting that "While the production playfully tackled this bizarre chapter of pop-culture history through comedic documentary-style interviews, the standout achievements were undeniably its brilliantly inventive costume design and an unforgettable musical number dedicated entirely to, yes, shit." Harrison co-created/designed/staged, and performed in the piece (as the iconic Sears Tower), alongside members of Buntport Theater Company.
