A. Todd Franklin, the Eugene M. Tobin Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Africana Studies, was one of a select group of global scholars invited to participate in a recent workshop focusing on the ideas and implications of Philosophy Born of Struggle.
The workshop was hosted by Purdue University on Feb. 6 and 7 and featured discussions of topics ranging from necro-being and insurrection to transformations of disciplinary and social practices.
Franklin led a session focusing on the insurrectionist virtues of truculence and devotion and how they bear upon efforts to make American philosophy more inclusive in terms of demographics, theory, and praxis.
