Visiting Assistant Professor of Literature and Creative Writing Patrick Joseph Caoile was invited to speak at Berry College (Georgia) as part of the David James Poissant Prose Reading Series in March.
He read from his debut short story collection Tales from Manila Ave., and answered questions from the audience. As per tradition among Berry College students, their final question involved asking the author, “What are your thoughts on Beyonce?,” to which Caoile pointed them toward a cover of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” by the band A Rocket to the Moon.
