Meet the Tutors
Chris Bannigan ’26
Chris is a senior from Winston-Salem, North Carolina majoring in Government with a minor in Jurisprudence, Law, & Justice studies. Outside of the Writing Center, you can catch him in the pool with the Men's Swimming and Diving team, running around in a suit and tie singing with the Buffers, or off campus hiking with Hamilton Outing Club. He loves Philadelphia sports teams, good southern cuisine, thrifting quality clothing, and he appreciates all kinds of music. If you ever spot him working in Fojo or walking on Martin's Way, don't ever be afraid to start up a conversation!
Caitlin Blanksteen ’27
Caitlin is a junior from Ashburnham, Massachusetts, who is concentrating in Archaeology, minoring in Art, and completing the pre-med track. When she’s not in the Writing Center, you can find her in her bed—her favorite place on campus—or with her friends. She also works as a student manager at Sadove! Some things Caitlin adores are "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", the crème brûlée latte from Euphoria, her pets, decorating for Halloween, reading, making gifts for people, and painting.
Gabrielle Brihn ’26
Gabrielle is a senior from Cleveland, Ohio majoring in Philosophy and minoring in Math and Creative Writing. She is also part of the Nordic Ski Team, Red Weather, Book XI, The Spec, and HOC. She thinks Modern Family is the most well-written and hilarious show ever made. You can find her daily at the cooking station in Commons experimenting with how to make eggs not stick to the pan without using spray or adding new ingredients to her fried rice recipe. This is not an exaggeration; she really is there every day.
Kate Broeksmit ’26
Kate is a senior from the D.C. area and a third-year Writing Center tutor. She’s double-majoring in History and Art History. When she’s not studying, you can often find her spending time outdoors (working as both an Adirondack Adventure and Outing Club leader) or at her job at the Wellin. Outside of writing, she enjoys biking along Skyline Drive, hiking in the Adirondacks (she’s hoping to summit all 46 High Peaks someday), skiing, visiting museums, and exploring new places.
Norma Callejas ’26
Norma is a senior from Houston, Texas—yeehaw partner AND yes, she is still cool—who is concentrating in ethnomusicology through an interdisciplinary music, Japanese, and Hispanic Studies major. Besides residing in the Writing Center, you can find this friendly gremlin at home in the new and renewed mail center, the dark corners of the library (shelving books or scanning them hehe), or in a little room hidden in the music department, most likely doing music homework. If you still can’t find her, it’s okay–no one ever can because she’s always on the run, most likely in choir; playing her flute, her guitar, or the piano in the practice rooms of Schambach; or writing songs and listening to music on blast in her dorm. She is the president of Tropical Sol, Hamilton’s only Latin dance group, where she dances and teaches salsa and bachata. She is also one of the co-Editors-In-Chief of Culture Magazine. Her babies (these clubs) mean the world to her, so she may be enjoying life there, too, if you ever track her down.
Senna Camp ’26
Senna is a senior from Massachusetts majoring in Environmental Studies. When she’s not in the Writing Center, she loves to read Octavia Butler, hang out with her dog, and run around campus collecting donations for Hamilton’s Closet. She loves fall because it means she gets to eat Hamilton-provided Cider Mill donuts.
Jason Chen ’28
Jason is a sophomore from Queens majoring in Sociology with a minor in Education studies. Outside of the Writing Center, you might spot him flying in the air to slam a volleyball, gluttonizing Asian food through the ASU, and consuming fantasy books in his secret campus nook. You will most likely catch him at Fojo chatting with the baristas while sipping an iced chai from Euphoria.
Maddie Cloutier ’27
Maddie is a junior from Chicago, Illinois who is majoring in Classics and minoring in Religious Studies. Outside of the Writing Center, you can find them on Minor field practicing with the rugby team, working on The Wattage (as the editor), or DJing for their radio show, Via Chicago. In her free time, Maddie loves reading fantasy novels, listening to music, and playing bass.

Beyond the Writing Center and the classroom, he is a member of the men's lacrosse team and enjoys writing, running, hiking, and really any outdoor activity. He enjoys reading fiction and will recommend Kurt Vonnegut any chance he gets. He has a passion for movies and music and is always looking for suggestions as to what to watch/listen to next!
Ananna Das ’28
Ananna is a sophomore from Binghamton, New York (but she'll always rep her hometown in Queens). She is currently planning to major in Psychology with a minor in Biology and is a part of HamVotes, Know Thyself, and ROOTS on campus. When she's not rambling on about fun facts of the brain, you'll find her actively denying her caffeine dependency, romanticizing the world to put into poetry, or freaking out about the time she talked to her favorite artist over FaceTime (she really loves MICO).
Rory Fernandez ’28
Rory is a Biochemistry and Russian Studies double major from New York City. As Secretary of Teremok Russian Club, Cheburashka holds a special place in his heart. When he’s not in the Writing Center or the lab, you can find him playing with hacked Tamagotchis, drawing, or composing sketches on cheap DAWs. You’ll be able to spot him anywhere on campus by his poofy hair and welcoming demeanor—plus, if you ever need a hug, he’s always got time!
Samantha Flaherty ’27
Off-campus. Sami is a junior from Wilmington, Delaware, intending to major in Philosophy and minors in Linguistics and French. Even when not scheduled, she is often near the Writing Center in various KJ study spots or at the Keurig machine. On campus, she competes on the Mock Trial team, performs with the Dance Department and student dance clubs, and edits for Suture. Her other hobbies include: waking up before her alarm, walking to Utica Coffee, and calling her sister on Martin’s Way.

She is a Creative Writing major with a minor in taking advantage of the open curriculum (which amounted to Religious Studies). When Emily isn't working on projects for WHCL, Green Apple, or Red Weather, you can find her out on the Kirkland Green, hopefully reading or writing for herself.
Isaiah Franco ’27
Off-campus. Isaiah is a junior from Vancouver, Washington. Most of the time, you can find him off campus in Utica working with COOP and HAVOC, or near the Opportunity Program offices in downstairs McEwen. He enjoys reading novels, listening to new hip hop albums, and being disappointed in the Arizona Cardinals every year.
Theodore Gercken ’27
Teddy is a junior from Piedmont, California, majoring in Government and minoring in Anthropology and Religious Studies (yes, he never leaves KJ). Outside of the Writing Center, he can be found competing for Hamilton Debate, playing (and designing) board games, and researching minor political parties.
Diana Gonzalez ’28
Diana is from San Jose, California. She intends to double-major in Creative Writing and Government. Ask her about her tote bags (which she loves but doesn't use often), or maybe what she's cooked recently (where she will give you a step-by-step description); just don't ask about her WIP (she will cry). If you're trying to find her, good luck (she's not sure where she is half the time either). If found, don't hesitate to say hi (she's always looking for some excuse to yap!).
Benjamin Habler ’28
Ben is a sophomore from Glen Rock, New Jersey, majoring in Government with a minor in Economics. Outside of the Writing Center, Ben is a member of the cross-country and track teams and is an economics tutor at the QSR. He enjoys running, watching sports, listening to country music, and being outside.
JJ Hall ’27
JJ is a junior from South Florida who majors in Creative Writing and minors in Economics. A wild JJ can be identified by his durag, which is matching his hoodie, which is matching his Crocs. As JJ says, “If you’re not Croc’n, you're not Rock’n!” His favorite music genre is Christian Hip Hop and he can often be found listening to nobigdyl on repeat. He’s an avid Miami Heat fan, fledgling tea addict (the beverage!), poet (and he knows it *snap snap*), and professional amateur ukulele-ist. JJ can be found in many diverse environments including but not limited to: Sadove Sunporch with Hamilton Christian Fellowship, Darkside hanging out with his advisees as a CA, and the Writing Center (obviously). If you ever spot him in real life, don’t be afraid to greet him! He responds to English and Spanish. :)

Outside of the Writing Center, she can usually be found attending to her aches and pains on Minor Field (with the women's rugby team), hosting No Cover! (her super cool and awesome radio show), or frequenting the local Dunkin' drive-through. She's also an avid chili enthusiast and staunchly believes that it is one of the most versatile foods in a college student's culinary lexicon.
Lucy Meola ’26
Lucy is a senior from Queens who is double majoring in Environmental Studies and Anthropology. Her favorite part of the writing process is the aha moment when an argument starts to come together. She also enjoys crosswords, reading late into the night, and anything involving chocolate. Outside of the Writing Center, you might find her tutoring at the Language Center, doing puzzles in the library, or getting lost in Rogers Glen.
Jakob Narrow ’27

In his free time, Jakob is an avid reality television fan and enjoys keeping up with a steady rotation of puzzle and word games.

Leah Reed ’27
Leah is a junior from Long Island majoring in Creative Writing and Computer Science. Outside the Writing Center, she can be found trekking back and forth between Taylor and List. She is the co-president and founder of Hamilton's Robotics Team and a member of the RPG club. Leah is also a huge music-lover and listens to everything from indie and alternative to Broadway tunes to classic rock, and even the occasional rap. Her (admittedly limited) free time is filled with board games, TTRPGs, nighttime woods walks, comic books, and heavily-honeyed tea.
Zoe Regner ’26

Ana Paula Reig ’27
Ana Paula is a junior from Cuba who later moved to Miami, Florida. She is currently double-majoring in Economics and Public Policy, but that could change into some other combination of Econ, Public Policy, and Government. During her free time, she loves listening to music, learning new languages, experiencing different cultures, and being outside. She speaks Spanish, English, and French. Next on her list are Arabic and Hindi! On campus, you can find her dancing on the hip-hop team, Heat; planning events for the International Cultural Association, ICA; and performing in the contemporary and Chinese dance pieces in the Faculty Dance Show.

Mili is originally from South Texas (RGV). Recently she's taken many classes related to Sociology, Psychology, and Japanese. Despite studying abroad in Japan for 8 months, she is still only fluent in Spanish and English. She's a senior this semester, and a few fun things she's doing lately include playing her flute, taking self defense classes, dancing, and organizing anime club events. You can often find her trying to lock in at KJ with her friends.

Outside of the Writing Center, she's the TA for a Literature class, a member of the Hamiltones and the Hamilton College Choir, and an Exploration Adventure Orientation Leader. Whenever she doesn’t have a music-related commitment, she’s usually in KJ atrium and will happily engage in conversation about astronomy or Brandon Sanderson’s novels (don’t spoil the latest one for her; she’s still working on it). Her other hobbies include starting knitting and writing projects she never finishes and getting gradually better at taking care of plants.
Elizabeth Rudge ’27
Off-campus. Elizabeth is a junior from Katonah, New York majoring in Government with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. When not in the Writing Center, you can find Elizabeth making new Spotify playlists, knitting while watching bad TV, or on Steuben Field with the Women's Lacrosse team. She loves backpacking, re-reading Jon Krakauer books, and finding empty classrooms in List.
Fletcher Shaw ’26
Fletcher is a senior from Washington, D.C. who is double majoring in Philosophy and Economics. Outside of the Writing Center, you’ll likely find him biking across campus too quickly, playing pass on Minor field, eating pub lunch, or talking people’s ears off about how the Commanders are finally good again.

Raised in Northeast Wisconsin by Yucatec immigrants, Alejandro enjoys writing, acting, Lady Gaga's entire discography, and wearing as much purple as he can. He speaks English, Spanish, Japanese (badly), and Toki Pona. He is the President of Yodapez Improv Comedy, Hamilton's greatest, oldest, and only on-campus improv comedy troupe. He is a proud member of the Opportunity Programs (OP) community. Ask him about the characters from his senior thesis novel the next time you need to kill about 90 minutes.
Emma Wilson ’27
Emma is a junior from Lancaster, Pennsylvania majoring in Physics and minoring in Music. When she’s not in the Writing Center you can probably find her playing French horn somewhere in Schambach, out for a run in the glen, or tutoring physics in the QSR. Yuxuan Xu ’26
Yuxuan is a senior who uses his brain to think about brains (i.e., a Neuroscience major). His career goal is to become a mad scientist. A fun fact about Yuxuan is that his name spelled in alphabetical order is Anuuux Xy. You will earn Yuxuan’s utmost respect if you beat him in Scrabble or Boggle. His proudest Hamilton moment was leading an underdog team to glory in the 2024 IM soccer tournament (plans for a repeat are already in motion). If you are walking in the glen, you might stumble upon Yuxuan. Let him know if you see salamanders and fungi!
