Event Description

Ash Wednesday is the first day of the Christian liturgical season of Lent, where Christians intentionally enter into an annual season of repentance, mortality, and renewal. On Ash Wednesday, Christians receive an outward sign of ashes on the forehead or hand. If you would like to receive a sign of Ash on your forehead or hand, come by this afternoon. You will receive ashes and a short prayer (and then can go on your way). Ashes administered by Mother Joanna Benskin, and parishioners from St. James Episcopal Church, Clinton. The chapel will be open for quiet prayer and reflection for all.
