On Saturday, May 2, ASU and Sadove After Dark, in collaboration with the DMC, hosted the Asian Night Market on Sadove Terrace from 5-8 p.m., transforming the space into a vibrant, food-centered celebration of Asian cultures. The event invited the Hamilton community to explore a variety of cuisines through appetizer-style street foods catered from Taj Mahal, Lotus Garden, Red Samurai, Mitsuba, and Pho Vietnam, offering attendees the opportunity to sample dishes across different regional traditions.
Students flooded Sadove Terrace throughout the evening, lining up to try different dishes and experience the lively atmosphere of the event. Each attendee received a stamp card allowing them to select three different food items, encouraging students to explore a range of cuisines while creating an organized flow between vendors. With options available for vegans and vegetarians, the event aimed to make the experience accessible to a wide range of attendees.
In addition to the food, Asian Night Market also featured interactive activities such as kite-making and origami, giving students opportunities to engage creatively while spending time with friends and members of the broader campus community. The combination of food, music, and hands-on activities contributed to an energetic and welcoming environment that kept the terrace crowded throughout the night.
The event also reflected the extensive planning and coordination behind the scenes, as ASU worked closely with the DMC and Sadove After Dark to bring the program together. Through both cultural celebration and community engagement, ASU’s Asian Night Market highlighted the importance of creating spaces where students can share traditions, experiences, and connections with one another.
