Hamilton’s Communications Office is responsible for overseeing the College’s editorial style and graphic identity system. Consistency and accuracy in our communications influence how Hamilton is perceived by its various external audiences. In other words, what we say is as important as how we say it and how we present it

The Editorial Style Guide serves as a tool when writing or editing content, whether for publication or presentations. It is especially handy as a reference for common questions, such as how to cite titles, building names, and academic programs.

Reference the Graphic Identity guidelines for tips on how to properly apply the institutional logo, wordmark, seal, colors, and mascot in your communications. Information on the graphic identity system developed for Hamilton athletics is also included.

Although these guidelines are designed to address most style and usage issues, we understand you may have further questions. Please contact Stacey Himmelberger, senior director of communications content and strategy, for inquires about editorial style, or visual communications for questions about graphic identity.

Help us provide an accessible education, offer innovative resources and programs, and foster intellectual exploration.
