The Multicultural Peer Mentoring Program recently organized a heartwarming Valentine's Day movie night for mentors and mentees. The event was a great success, drawing a large and diverse crowd of students who were excited to socialize and reconnect with their peers. To make the evening even more special, the organizers provided customized mugs, hot chocolate, and delicious chocolate-covered fruits for everyone to enjoy. The event was designed to foster renewed connections between mentors and mentees, especially during the spring semester when mentees may require less support. Despite the busy academic schedules of the attendees, many students stayed to watch the movie and engage in meaningful conversations with their peers. It was truly heartening to witness the positive impact that this event had on the relationships between mentors and mentees.
One of the most gratifying outcomes of the program is the formation of new friendships among mentees. Through events like this, students have the opportunity to connect with others outside of their mentorship pairings and form lasting bonds. It’s always wonderful to see students attending events with large groups of friends, whom they may not have met if not for the program. Overall, the Valentine’s Day movie night was a fantastic success and a testament to the power of peer mentoring and community building. The program’s head peer mentors were thrilled to see so many students engaging with each other and forming meaningful connections. It's events like this that truly make a difference in the lives of students and help them to feel more connected and supported within their academic community.
