Love Dating with the International Cultural Association

What a fantastic event the Feminists of Color Collective (FCC), the International Cultural Association (ICA), and the Gender and Sexuality Union's (GSU) Love Dating put together on February 15 in the ALCC basement! For the first time, the three groups collaborated, and the turnout was incredible. Students were welcomed with kits for decorating sugar cookies and hot cocoa, and the atmosphere was safe and welcoming. This allowed students to talk openly and honestly about all things related to love. They discussed topics such as setting boundaries and when to make relationships official.
It was heartwarming to see so many students feel secure enough to share their romantic experiences or seek guidance from others. The event also created a space where students could talk about their personal encounters on campus, leading to an open conversation about relationships and self-exploration. It was lovely to see students of all years come together and discuss the themes of love and acceptance. Overall, the Love Dating event was a great success. Students from different groups felt connected by their shared experiences with love. It was a beautiful thing to see different communities come together and support one another. We hope to see more events like this in the future, where everyone can come together in a safe space to connect and celebrate love!
