Eric Kuhn '09 interviewed "peace mom" Cindy Sheehan on his radio show "Kuhn and Company" on Saturday, February 25, on Hamilton's radio station WHCL 88.7 FM. Cindy Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed in the war in Iraq, led an anti-war protest outside President George W. Bush's Texas ranch in August and has gone on to speak out against the war and the President.
Sheehan is the author of the book Not One More Mother's Child and has joined other mothers and families in the group "Real Voices," to tell America about the true costs of war. During the interview, Kuhn asked "Is President Bush responsible for the death of your son?" "Absolutely," said Sheehan. "They lied and deceived America and the world." When asked what her son would think of her actions, Sheehan replied, "I know he's saying 'right on, Mom'."
Due to a scheduling problem, Sheehan could talk for only a short time and promised to return to the show at a later date to answer more questions.
Future guests on "Kuhn and Company" include Pulitzer Prize winning political cartoonist Matt Davies and Mark Leyner, author of Why Do Men Have Nipples? Hundreds of Questions You'd Only Ask a Doctor After Your Third Martini on March 2 beginning at 3 p.m. and Gary Bernstein author of Jawbreaker: The Attack on Bin Laden and Al Qaeda: A Personal Account by the CIA's Key Field Commander on March 9 at 3 p.m.
