Robert Kagan, the Stephen & Barbara Friedman Senior Fellow with the Project on International Order and Strategy in the Foreign Policy program at the Brookings Institute, will present a lecture titled “The Jungle Grows Back: America and Our Imperiled World” on Friday, Oct. 5, at 4:15 p.m., in Room 102, Kirner-Johnson Building at Hamilton College. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Kagan earned his B.A. in history from Yale University, M.P.P from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and a Ph.D. in American history from American University. He is an accomplished author, and his past works include: The World America Made (Knopf 2012) and The Return of History and the End of Dreams (Knopf 2008). He is also a monthly contributing writer in The Washington Post.
In 2016, Kagan was named one of Politico Magazine’s “Politico 50.” This group includes “thinkers, doers and visionaries transforming American Politics.” Previously, Kagan served as principal speechwriter and deputy for policy in the Bureau of Inter-American Affairs under Secretary of State George P. Shultz.
