Alan Cafruny, the Henry Platt Bristol Chair of International Affairs and Professor of Government, recently gave two presentations at the International Studies Association (ISA) annual convention in Columbus, Ohio.
He and Vassilis Fouskas (University of East London) discussed “Historical Materialism and the War in Ukraine” as members of a panel titled “Making Sense of the Russian-Ukrainian War with International Relations Theories.” The presentation was based on their co-authored book chapter that will appear in the forthcoming third edition of Making Sense of International Relations Theory, from Lynne Rienner Publishers. Publication is expected this fall.
Cafruny also presented “Europe’s Existential Crisis” as part of a roundtable on “Global Polycrisis and Eurasian Security.”
