Alan Cafruny

Alan Cafruny, the Henry Platt Bristol Chair of International Affairs and Professor of Government, recently presented “Hegemony” in a symposium on “Gramsci in the 21st Century” at King’s College London. The event was hosted by the Department of European and International Studies.

He also contributed to “Talking Trump: Does America have a (grand) strategy?” at the Center for the Study of States, Markets, and People, part of the Royal Docks School of Business and Law at the University of East London.

“Talking Trump” examined questions surrounding U.S. foreign policy and strategic direction. It focused on developments relating to Ukraine, Venezuela, Greenland and Iran, in discussions that considered “whether contemporary American policy reflects a coherent grand strategy, and how it should be understood within wider international relations debates.”
