Fourteen Hamilton mathematics majors gave talks at the Hudson River Undergraduate Mathematics Conference (HRUMC) on April 8, held this year at Westfield State College in Westfield, Mass. They were among 240 speakers and 500 attendees from more than 40 institutions. The conference featured short talks by students and faculty and a keynote speech by Ken Ono of the University of Wisconsin. The goal of the HRUMC is to provide undergraduates with the experience of attending and/or presenting at a professional meeting designed primarily with the student in mind. Hamilton participants included Matthew Danziger '06, Cory Jemison '06, Eric Fraser Lock '06, Emily Luidens '06, Dane Johnson '07, Matthew Handelman '06, Amit Desai '07, Abhishek Maity '08, Thomas Heacock '06, Kyle Psaty '06, Bobby Cole '06, Tracy Zaino '06, Hann Yang '06, Andrew Lyons '06, Charles Vick '06 and Nicholas LaDuc Campany '06.
