Hamilton College received a plaque from Steinway and Sons designating the College as an "All-Steinway School" on April 14. The late Sam Pellman, the James L. Ferguson Professor of Music, diligently worked for the past 17 years to replace the College’s piano inventory with Steinway, and it was due to his efforts that Hamilton met the criteria for this distinction last summer.
There are only 200 All-Steinway institutions of higher learning in the world. Pellman was dedicated to ensuring that Hamilton students and faculty had quality instruments for teaching and performing.
As a part of Saturday's celebration, the College hosted Sally Coveleskie, national director of higher education sales for Steinway and Sons in New York.
