Students in the Washington DC Program meet with alumni who work at Deloitte.

Students on Hamilton College’s DC Program recently went to Rosslyn, Va., to meet with a group of Hamilton alums who work at Deloitte, a multinational professional services company. Howard Steinman ’93, Lia Parker-Belfer ’16, Jeremy Mathurin ’16, Michael Nelson ’16, Hannah Roth ’11, William "Buzz" Bedford ’94, and Mari Chacin ’18 held a roundtable discussion, where they talked about their roles at Deloitte and answered questions from students.

They started the conversation by recounting their time at Hamilton and how they found their way to Deloitte. Everyone had different interests and paths, yet ended up working at the same place. They spoke very highly of the company, saying how they appreciated the training they received and the company culture.

And they all noted how their Hamilton education helped them find their way and continues to help them in the world of consulting. The ability to tackle problems head-on and logically work your way through them, a staple of liberal arts education, is central to being a successful consultant.

After the discussion, the group broke off into smaller groups to mingle and allow for more in-depth, personal discussions. It was a wonderful networking opportunity and showed the strong and friendly nature of Hamilton’s alumni network.
