Anna Law, the Herbert Kurz Chair in Constitutional Rights at Brooklyn College, will give a Constitution Day lecture on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m., in the Chapel. The lecture, titled “A Nation No More?: Trump, Immigration and the Constitution,” is free and open to the public.
Law’s publications, which appear in both social science and law journals, investigate the interaction between law, legal institutions, and politics. Her first book, the Immigration Battle in American Courts (Cambridge University Press 2010), examined the role of the federal judiciary in U.S. immigration policy. In 2007, she appeared as a narrator with other academic experts alongside two Supreme Court justices in a PBS award-winning documentary. Law’s current projects include National Science Foundation-funded research on gender-based asylum as well as a book on immigration, federalism, and slavery.
