The Hamilton College Arboretum’s 2018-19 Saturday Speaker series continues with forester Steve Bick on Saturday, Feb. 16. He will present “Forests of Hamilton College,” at 10 a.m. in the Taylor Science Center’s Kennedy Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Steve Bick is a father and a forester and sometimes a researcher and a writer. His work as a forestry consultant involves stewardship, education, and applied research. In 2017 he completed a forest carbon inventory and stewardship plan for Hamilton College’s woodlands.
Bick has a Ph.D. in forest management and economics from Virginia Tech and a bachelor’s degree and master’s from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He is the author and co-author of eight books on forestry and conservation topics.
Bick and his family live in Okara Lakes in the western Adirondacks.
Parking is available near the building. All Arboretum events are free and open to the public and pre-registration is not required.
