The Hamilton College Arboretum’s 2018-19 Saturday Speaker series opens on Saturday, Oct. 20, with gardening expert, author, and photographer Matthew Benson. He will discuss his new book, Growing Beautiful Food: A Gardener’s Guide to Cultivating Extraordinary Vegetables and Fruits at 10 a.m., at the Kennedy Auditorium, Taylor Science Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Benson’s new book shows that the shift toward homegrown food has made gardeners and foodies relish beautiful meals. He believes that by growing food that is visually enticing, we can eat better, be healthier, and live more sustainably.
Parking is available near the building. All Arboretum events are free and open to the public, and everyone interested in gardens and landscapes is encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is not required.
