Seniors Honored

At the annual Jack B. Riffle celebration, the Athletics Department honored outstanding athletes from the senior class. Winners of the Riffle Awards for the top male and female athlete were Emma Tansky ’25 (softball) and James Philpott ’25 (hockey).

The Jean-Marius Gelas Memorial Awards, which celebrate development in sportsmanship, leadership, character, and athletic ability, went to Sylvie Najarian ’25 (cross country) and Connor Griff ’25 (tennis). The Milton H. Jannone Awards for athleticism, leadership, and academic accomplishment were awarded to Katt Withers ’25 (swimming and diving) and Hank Morgan ’25 (basketball).

In addition, Philpott and Tansky were recognized for their achievements by the Kiwanis Club of Utica at their recognition dinner celebrating student-athletes from Hamilton, Utica University, SUNY Polytechnic, Herkimer College, and Mohawk Valley Community College.

Team Kudos

Hamilton men’s tennis wrapped up their season at No. 27 in the national team rankings, and the women’s team ended up at No. 52 in the national rankings.

Standout Individuals

Golf’s Aroca Gonzalez ’26 is NESCAC’s Best

Ramon Aroca Gonzalez ’26 celebrated a phenomenal run this golf season. He earned his third all-region honor and his second nod as NESCAC Golfer of the Year. He held an impressive 18-hole stroke average of 72.40 for 20 rounds and garnered four individual medals this season. Aroca Gonzalez competed in the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship for the first time this year, finishing in a tie for 63rd out of 225 golfers.

Fried ’25 Garners All-American Honors in Lacrosse

Goalie Jack Fried ’25 finished his college lacrosse career with a bang, receiving all-American recognition and his second all-NESCAC honor. Fried also played in the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III Men’s Senior All-Star Game. His 500 career saves put him in the Hamilton history books as the fifth-ever Continental goalie to accomplish such a feat.

Track and Field’s Rogan ’28 Third in Steeplechase Finals, All-American

Keira Rogan brought home the bronze for Hamilton at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships with her impressive steeplechase performance. Her success resulted in recognition as a first team all-American by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association, her third time garnering such an award. She also received all-NESCAC and all-region honors earlier in the season.

Tennis Coach Arsenault Honored

Peter Arsenault was named the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Men’s Coach of the Year for the Northeast Region. His leadership helped the team achieve a 16-5 season record and a final ranking of 25th in the ITA Division III Men’s Collegiate Tennis team rankings.

All-NESCAC and All-Region Honors

Softball players Emma Tanksy ’25 and Alexis Mayer ’26 received all-region and all-NESCAC honors. Pitcher/utility player Tansky posted a 3.51 earned run average and a .444 batting average this season. She has stolen the most bases of any Hamilton player over her career with a record 64. Outfielder Mayer hit  .347 this season with five home runs. Her fielding percentage was .953.

Tennis duo Hannah Apsey ’25 and Stephanie Pratt ’25 earned all-NESCAC honors following their 15-9 overall record (including fall tournaments) as Hamilton’s No. 1 doubles team. Apsey was also voted into the all-conference team for singles with an overall record of 12-11, including fall tournaments. In men’s tennis, Anson Anderson ’26 and Tarun Korwar ’27 picked up all-NESCAC honors with an overall record of 13-12 (including fall tournaments). Korwar also joined the all-NESCAC singles team with an overall record of 20-5.

Rower Annika Benn ’25 joined the women’s all-NESCAC boat for her contributions to the Continentals’ 10th place finish at the 2024 Head of the Charles Regatta in October. Max Klivans ’25 was selected for the men’s all-NESCAC boat following his role in the silver medal finish of the Hamilton varsity eight boat at the 2025 New York State Collegiate Championships in April.

Infielder Chester Boynton ’27 and pitcher Eddie Taylor ’25 earned spots on the all-NESCAC baseball team following their productive seasons. Boynton, a NESCAC player of the week, posted an impressive .402 batting average, the third best in the NESCAC. His .511 on-base percentage placed him among the top five in the conference. Taylor’s 3.45 earned run average was sixth best in the NESCAC, as were his three saves. He finished his Hamilton baseball career with an overall 6-4 record and 3.52 ERA.

Olivia Strigh ’25 and Aubrey Lee ’28 were selected to the all-NESCAC women’s golf teams. Strigh played 15 rounds this season, finishing with an 18-hole stroke average of 80.47. She posted a seventh-place finish in her final NESCAC championship in May. Lee completed 17 rounds with a stroke average of 78.53. At the Trinity College/University of Hartford Spring Invitational, she earned an individual medal for her 35-hole score of 157. Both golfers played key roles in the third-place finish for the Hamilton team at the 2025 NESCAC Championships and the team title at the Trinity/Hartford Spring Invitational.

Women’s track and field’s incredible season yielded seven all-region and two all-NESCAC honorees. Olivia Waruch ’28, Claire Tratnyek ’26, Mia O’Neill ’28, and Marley Meyers ’28 earned all-region recognition for their third-fastest performance at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference. Dana Schwartz ’26 earned similar honors for her third-place javelin throw at the same conference. Schwartz also received all-NESCAC recognition for her second-place throw at the 2025 NESCAC Championships, while Sylvie Najarian ’25 and Keria Rogan ’28 achieved all-region performances in steeplechase, with Rogan also honored with an all-NESCAC nod for the same event.
