As students in the 8th Levitt leadership Institute (LLI) head to Washington, D.C., or the Highlander Center for Research and Education for the second week of their program, Krista Hesdorfer ’14 offers this reflection as a member of the first LLI cohort. Hesdorfer says LLI helped shape her career path — she is currently working at Hunger Solutions New York as an advocate for federal nutrition assistance programs.

Ifeoluwa Aiyelabowo ’19 has been awarded a U.S. Department of State Critical Languages scholarship to China. Aiyelabowo will study in Dalian, China, this summer before he starts his career at the financial services consulting firm Capco, where he interned last summer.

As a part of our Seminar In Global Processes: The Global City, we delve into the creation and functioning of cities around the world, whilst focussing on the locus of our study- New York City. We live and breathe the city every day as we take the subway to work, grab a coffee at the closest Deli or try and figure out why the Walgreens is called Duane Reade here!

Some people spend their leisure time watching Netflix. Others go for a run in the Glen. Daniella ‘Danie’ Edwards ’21, however, spends her leisure time skiing competitively. The countless hours she has spent training and practicing throughout high school and college landed her a spot at the United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association Nationals in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The competition takes place from March 11 to 16. Edwards qualified as an individual as part of the Alpine National Team for the region after Hamilton’s team did not qualify. Edwards cannot wait to represent Hamilton during the prestigious competition.
