Communication/Marketing office student writer Melissa Kaleka ’24 spoke with Jenn and Michael Ferman, Hamilton’s new Jewish chaplains. Chaplaincy focuses on encouraging students’ sense of identity through religious, spiritual, cultural, and moral engagement, on a community level and individually. The Fermans will be playing significant roles in students’ lives as they facilitate Jewish experiences that will enrich their minds and bring diverse Jewish voices to speak on campus.

Communications Office student writer Melissa Kaleka ’24 recently sat down with Omobonike Odegbami, Hamilton’s inaugural director of International Student Services (ISS). In the new position, Odegbami will support international students before, during, and after their transition from their home countries to campus.

Senior class president Felix Tager ’23 spent a busy summer in Washington, D.C., pursuing two internships. He worked with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine’s (PCRM) nutrition program and ran communications for Yadira Caraveo, the Democratic House of Representative nominee for the new Colorado district (CO-8).

During their four years at Hamilton, Kye Lippold ’10, Geoffrey Hicks ’09, Robyn Gibson ’10, Amy Tannenbaum ’10, Corrine Bancroft ’10, Stephanie Tafur ’10, and Wai Yee Poon ’10 led an effort to improve the experiences of marginalized groups on campus.

The Voices of Color Lecture Series hosted a panel discussion featuring Kumari Regmi, Kay Klo, and Tabo Bo, who spoke candidly about their experiences with resettlement and the Southeast Asian community in Utica.

When thinking about his post-Hamilton path, Noah Giovanelli ’21 knew he wanted to pursue Hispanic studies combined with traveling. His interest arose from the many friends he had from Spanish-speaking countries in high school and a program in Madrid he participated in during his junior year.

Lexie Mucci (they/them) is the newest addition to the Days-Massolo Center, working as the LGBTQIA+ identity support specialist.

Each Thursday afternoon, Abigail Moone ’22 can be found on the third floor of the Chapel. Following social distancing guidelines, a dozen or so students sit in a circle and wait for Moone to begin the meeting. She reads a poem from the student literary publication Red Weather and sets a reflective mood that continues for the next 20 minutes.
