  • Professor of Art History Emeritus and Senior Lecturer in Art History Rand Carter was celebrated by some of his former students during Fallcoming/Family Weekend in October. Michael Shapiro ’71 and David Nathans ’72 worked with the Office of Alumni Relations to organize the event. Carter, who joined the Hamilton faculty in 1970, retired at the end of the 2016-17 academic year.

  • Some Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) members made Halloween a little happier for some children and senior citizens at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare on Oct. 29. The student-athletes donned costumes and visited the pediatric ward and Senior Care Center of St. Luke's Hospital.

  • Hamilton was well-represented at the 10th annual Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U), held this year at Northeastern University. Risper Kirui ’19, Emily DeJong ‘19, Gerard Pozzi ‘18 and KT Glusac ‘17 were among the more than 1,100 students chosen to attend the prestigious conference. In addition previous CGI U attendees Sharif Shrestha ‘17, Emily Moscowitz ‘16 and Andy Chen ’16 returned this year. All were recipients of Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center funding and/or support.

Anderson ’44 on Saturday, and the Tietje Family Tennis Center and Falmouth Road Race Reunion Courts were dedicated during the combined Fall Weekend.

  • Eight students launched Hamilton’s inaugural Alternative Fall Break trip with a four-day visit to Double H Ranch in the Adirondacks, Oct. 11-15. The camp was founded by Charles R. Wood, and actor Paul Newman as a part of his SeriousFun network of camps for children with life threatening illnesses.

  • More than 140 Hamilton community members took part in the 5th annual AK5K on Oct. 8 at SUNY Poly in Utica. The charity run and walk was in honor of Alexandra Kogut, a 2012 New Hartford Senior High School graduate who was killed inside her dorm room at SUNY Brockport in 2012.
