Event Description

The Levitt Center invites you to a Community Conversation on The Use of AI at Hamilton College and Beyond.  Please RSVP for lunch here.

With advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), the use of ChatGPT has become increasingly frequent in everyday work, from coding to copywriting. This raises questions about how to use AI in academic settings, as well. In many ways, ChatGPT is a powerful study tool to organize academic material, but could also be seen as undermining academic honesty? Does it prevent students from learning on their own, or is the efficient usage of AI an important skill in our current world? This conversation welcomes students to consider and discuss the role of AI in their everyday lives, whether that occurs inside or outside of the classroom, as well as whether policies and/or safeguards should be enforced to ensure academic honesty, if possible. Join us for this student-focused, student-facilitated Community Conversation and let’s talk about it!  The Levitt Center will follow up with a confirmation once you have registered.

This is a Crossroads Event. CommunityConversations are made possible by the The Alan McCullough, Jr. Fund for Applied Philosophy
