Flycatching / Fliegenfangen: On the performance of racism in imperial Germany and its repercussions into the digital age

Lena Sophie Trüper is a PhD candidate in European Languages and Transcultural Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research interests include visual popular science, the history of cybernetics, digital art, colonial medicine and performance studies. Her current research project explores the connections between the histories of hygiene and cybernetics as theories and practices of behavioral control, adopting a global and transcultural perspective.
