Event Description

The Politics of Classical Reception

From adaptations of Greek tragedy to address contemporary social issues to politicized appropriations for varying purposes to debates about curricula in higher education, the discipline of Classics has been in the crosshairs in recent years. This talk frames these debates and attempts to seek ways to work within these tensions, even if they can't fully be resolved.
