Title: Against The Puzzle of Imaginative ‘Resistance’ 

Abstract: On the face of it, we can imagine virtually any fantastical scenario: time travel that ensures our own births; interstellar travel that violates the laws of physics; even forces of magic rushing in to save the day. Yet many of us find it shockingly difficult to imagine a world in which needless violence or cruelty are morally good.
