Kwabena K. Edusei earned a B.S. in business management with a concentration in finance,  an honors B.A. in philosophy from Brooklyn College, and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University in philosophy. His research spans acoustic ecology, environmental justice, and decolonial philosophy, focusing on the sonic dimensions of the environment; his specific interest is researching sound and environmental injustice. As a scholar-activist with community organizing experience, Edusei readily incorporates community-based learning into his research and teaching. He helps students bridge their academic knowledge with activist praxis by incorporating assignments such as the “EJ Fact Sheet” and requiring attendance at community events for mini-research projects.
