Giampaolo Molisina
Visiting Assistant Professor of Italian Studies
Giampaolo Molisina holds a Ph.D. in Italian from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A. in Didactics of Italian Language and Literature from Università per Stranieri di Siena, and a B.A. in Italian Language and Culture from Università di Pisa. His research spans post-war Italian cinema and literature, with particular emphasis on the place of poetry in cinematic expression. Molisina’s book project, Rome and the Poetics of Time: History, Meta-History, and Neo-History in the Cinematic City, examines the poetics of time in the cinematic representations of the eternal city's urban space. Before moving to the U.S., he spent over a decade in Peru, where he served as the director of Italian language and culture courses at the Italian Cultural Institute of Lima, and as lecturer of Italian Literature and Cinema at the Universidad del Pacífico.
