Dan Sato
Lecturer in Music (piano)
Dan Sato was described by the legendary American virtuoso André Watts as a musician of “exuberant spontaneity, deep conviction, and serious compositional understanding.”
Sato has been heard internationally on major radio stations and streaming media platforms, and at music festivals across the U.S. In addition to solo endeavors, he regularly collaborates with mezzo-soprano Katherine Suzanne Weber and has recorded critically acclaimed albums with saxophonist Diane Hunger and cellist Leah Plave.
Sato has coached students and taught keyboard literature at Syracuse University and has been a faculty artist at the Perlman Music Program, ArtsAhimsa, and Notes By The Bay Music Festival. He was most recently the visiting assistant professor of piano at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, and is now a lecturer of piano performance at Syracuse and Hamilton.
