Overview
The collection of the Wellin Museum of Art comprises objects from a range of cultures and periods from the ancient to the present day acquired throughout Hamilton College’s 200-year history. A selection of works drawn from the collection are featured in the soaring floor-to-ceiling glass cases in Archive Hall and as part of themed displays in the adjacent Object Study Gallery. Modern and contemporary artworks are presented alongside historical works and objects of material culture reflecting areas of strength within the collection, concepts introduced in concurrent temporary exhibitions on view in the Dietrich Exhibition Gallery, and areas of study at Hamilton College. New acquisitions are incorporated into the Archive Hall displays throughout the year. The Object Study Gallery’s curated drawers and glass bays rotate on an annual basis. The Wellin Museum’s globally representative collection supports its teaching mission by providing access to artworks and artifacts through class visits, highlights on view, and the website as a portal into the Wellin Museum's holdings. Please explore the collection tab on the museum’s website to learn more.
